Laundry Duct Cleaning in Dubai
Laundry duct cleaning removes the lint that accumulates in commercial dryer extract systems, where it restricts airflow and becomes a fire risk. EZ Solutions cleans laundry extract ductwork for hotels, hospitals, laundries and labour accommodation across Dubai, with a photographic report on completion.
One of the most overlooked aspects of fire prevention is the cleaning of laundry extract systems. It is vital for any organisation that processes laundry in volume: hotels, hospitals, commercial laundries and labour accommodation.
Why lint is the problem
Every drying cycle sheds fine fibre into the extract ductwork. It settles along the run, particularly at bends and dampers, and gradually restricts the airflow. Two things follow. Dryers take longer to complete a cycle because they cannot vent efficiently, which costs energy and machine life. And the duct is now lined with a highly combustible material sitting in a hot air stream.
What we clean
- Dryer extract ductwork, from the machine connection to the discharge point.
- Transition ducts and flexible connections.
- Dampers, grilles and discharge terminals.
- Extract fans serving the laundry.
Access
Many existing duct systems have insufficient access points to enable proper cleaning. Where that is the case we install access doors at strategic points throughout the system, so inspection and cleaning can be carried out routinely from then on rather than becoming a project every time.
Standards
Work is carried out by our in-house team of fully trained technicians following documented method statements, in compliance with the HSE guidance issued by Trakhees EHS and Dubai Municipality Health and Safety, along with the relevant COSHH regulations. A complete photographic pre and post clean report is provided.
What is included
- Lint removal from the full extract run
- Hotels, hospitals, laundries and labour accommodation
- Restores dryer airflow and reduces drying times
- Access panels installed where the system has none
- Photographic pre and post clean report
How we do it
-
Survey the run
We trace the extract ductwork from the dryers to the discharge point and identify where access is available and where panels are needed.
-
Clean the ductwork
Mechanical brushes and extraction equipment remove compacted lint from the full length of the run, not just the accessible first metre.
-
Check discharge and airflow
The discharge point and any dampers are cleared, and airflow is checked so you can see the dryers are actually venting properly.
Laundry Duct Cleaning in Dubai: frequently asked questions
Why does laundry ducting need cleaning?
Cleaning laundry extract systems is one of the most overlooked aspects of fire prevention. Lint is highly combustible, and it accumulates steadily through the duct run where nobody sees it. It is vital for any organisation that processes laundry at volume.
What are the warning signs?
Drying cycles taking longer than they used to, dryers running hot, lint visible around the discharge point, and a burning smell in the laundry area. Longer cycles are usually the first sign and are often mistaken for ageing machines.
How often should it be done?
It depends on volume. High-throughput laundries in hotels, hospitals and labour accommodation need it far more often than a small in-house laundry. We will recommend an interval based on how much lint we remove on the first clean.
What if our ducting has no access points?
Many systems do not have enough access to be cleaned properly. We install access doors at strategic points so the system can be inspected and cleaned routinely from then on.
